News: Eton Properties Updates

Two news articles just came out about Eton Properties, one from Business World (http://www.bworld.com.ph/BW122208/content.php?id=041) and one from Philippine Star (http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?ArticleId=425885&publicationSubCategoryId=66). The two have somewhat contradicting titles, with the one in Philippine Star saying that “Eton will not slow down” and the one in Business World saying that “Eton defers projects to test waters first”. Still, both articles are saying the same thing: that Eton Properties will definitely continue finishing the already started and sold projects like the Eton Residences Greenbelt in Makati, Eton Baypark Manila Roxas Boulevard, Eton Emerald Lofts Ortigas, One Archers Place DLSU, Belton Place Makati, Eton Parkview Greenbelt Makati, Eton Centris Quezon City, Eton Cyperpod Corinthian Ortigas, and the 1000-hectare Eton City in SLEX Cabuyao, Laguna.

Thanks to these posts about great Eton news! It’s nice to know that Eton President Danilo Ignacio is finally releasing OFFICIAL statements about Eton. I heard there are nasty rumors spreading in the Chinese Communities that supposedly, a relative of Lucio Tan claims that construction in all sold Eton projects will stop.

They say that some Ayala agents started this rumor. How low can they possibly go?? Are they so threatened by Eton Properties so much that they resort to low-life tactics just to sell their own? Their product is already considered by many as the best in the market, so why do they need to mudsling they’re competion? Insecurity is the word for them.

First off, Lucio Tan is the 2nd richest man in the Philippines with more than a BILLION U.S. DOLLARS of net worth. He clearly has more than enough funds to finish all the projects. He will not risk his reputation by sacrificing the quality and name of ANY of his businesses. He is just taking a conservative approach by delaying the launch of the not yet sold projects. But, as stated above, he is finishing the current Eton projects which are already sold…

So people, please know the truth and stay well informed. Don’t believe just anyone, especially the competitors. Verify your sources and believe in the real ones themselves. This statement doesn’t just go for Philippine Real Estate, but for all kinds of rumors out there :-)

Eton is really aggressive, kudos to Lucio Tan and his team. I think almost all the taipans (like Henry Sy) are joining the bandwagon and getting into real estate.

That’s right! Property is one of the “last frontiers” for Taipans to explore, because it is requires a very high capital investment in order to yield the high profits

Let’s just hope they do perform like the Ayala’s, but don’t push up the price as much as them so that they will be affordable still..
