SMB gives Manny Pacquiao a Dasmarinas Village Makati House?
According to an Inquirer Off-the-shelf report (http://business.inquirer.net/money/features/view/20090708-214394/Off-the-shelves-off-the-air), San Miguel Beer has handsomely paid Boxing Icon Manny Pacquiao for his services in their SMB commercials – with a 3,000 square meter property inside the very prestigious Dasmarinas Village Makati! What interesting gossip indeed!
This property was supposedly owned before by Junior Tambunting, and was taken over by United Coconut Planters Bank. It was sold reportedly at a whopping P190 Million (about p63,000 per square meter value), and is located along Palm Avenue, which is one of the two major roads inside Dasmarinas Village. And since Danding Cojuangco is the boss of UCPB and San Miguel, its quite easy to connect the dots and assume this rumor to be true. Of course, it’s still just gossip and no one has confirmed this officially as of now. They even mentioned on how the Dasma residents would be laughing to see Aling Dionisia at Sunday Mass.
Will Pacquiao become a Dasma resident indeed because of San Miguel Beer? How about Pacquiao’s kids then – would they be transferring to Collegio de San Agustin and Assumption Makati because of this move to Dasma? Of course, Pacman can afford to buy this property on his own with his reported $40 million net worth, but the UCPB angle has given it a unique twist.
